Description
Cleveland Clinic and Immune Deficiency Foundation collaborated to develop education to transform general clinicians from reactive symptom managers to proactive diagnostic detectives, enabling them to recognize hidden primary immunodeficiency (PI) patients within their existing practice, shift from a "treat-and-release" mindset to systematic pattern analysis, and initiate appropriate diagnostic workups and referral pathways that lead to life-changing diagnoses for patients who have been suffering with unrecognized immune dysfunction.
The on-demand webcast, Referral Mastery: Making the Handoff Count, equips clinicians to recognize when referral to a clinical immunologist is warranted, prepare focused and appropriately urgent referrals with relevant clinical information, and counsel patients effectively about what to expect during the immunology evaluation process.
Learning Objectives
- Identify when referral to a clinical immunologist is appropriate.
- Prepare well-crafted referrals that include specific questions, appropriately denote urgency, and include relevant information.
- Manage patient expectations while awaiting/during the process of evaluation by a clinical immunologist.
Target Audience
The online series is designed for front-line clinicians, including physicians, nurses, physician assistants, and pharmacists, of any specialty caring for patients with hidden primary immunodeficiency.
