Clinical Work Up for HCV+ Patients

1. Define who should be screened and/or have ongoing screening for HCV infection.
2. Discuss diagnosis of acute and chronic HCV infection.
3. Review of pre-treatment evaluation.
4. Define which patient populations should not be immediately treated for HCV.
5. Describe the nuances of treating HCV in the setting of coinfection (HIV/HBV).
6. Select which patients should be referred to Hepatology for HCV treatment.

The OH-HEP training series is targeted to Ohio-based primary care, infectious disease, gastroenterology, hepatology providers, advanced practice providers (nurses, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants), and pharmacists involved in Hepatitis C treatment or wishing to establish a collaborative practice agreement at their own institution.
