Questions and multiple-choice answers about the case presented include the rationale for the correct answer. Throughout this case-based lesson, you may proceed to the next question once you answer the question correctly.
Learning Objectives
After completing this case the reader should be able to:
- Define the DSM-V criteria for generalized anxiety disorder (GAD).
- Utilize the PHQ-2 for routine screens in non-psychiatric patients.
- Select SSRIs for patients that minimize sexual side effects.
- Minimize risk for discontinuation syndrome and serotonin syndrome.
- Describe the risk of dependence/tolerance in patients taking benzodiazepines.
