This program will provide information about Multiple Myeloma as well as identify patients who would benefit by seeing a specialist. Topics include an overview of multiple myeloma, the benefits of early detection, and methods for detection, testing, and addressing abnormal results.
Learning Objectives
As a result of attending this course, the participant will be able to:
- Explore multiple myeloma incidence in the population.
- Appraise the importance of early detection vs. late stage diagnosis.
- Describe the MM screening procedure and who is eligible.
- Differentiate diseases that can be detected with the M protein test including MM, MGUS, and Smouldering MM.
- Discuss the carepath for patients with abnormal results, including follow up testing and follow up care.
