Description

Sections of the 10th Annual Pain Management Symposium was captured and repurposed into a CME webcast series.  This series will focus on Cancer Pain evidence-based pain management and emerging therapies in pain management.  In addition it will feature state-of the art interventional techniques by world experts in the field.

Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, the participant will be able to:

  1. Differentiate between continuous radiofrequency and pulsed RF and their potential effects on nerve tissue.
  2. Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of percutaneous spinal cord stimulation and surgical lead placement.
  3. Explain the x-ray view of the tripole configuration and its use.
  4. Determine the difference between thermal neurolytic radiofrequency and pulsed radiofrequency.
  5. Describe the basic mechanism of action of radiofrequency.
  6. Define specific indications and contraindications for spine fusion surgery.

Practitioners and healthcare professionals who seek the latest developments in pain medicine, anesthesia providers, orthopedic surgeons, primary care physicians, physical therapists and nurses who are interested in the practice of pain management.
