Throughout Ohio, medical professionals, government officials, insurers, healthcare organizations, universities and patients are working to improve healthcare. No one group can do it alone. As the spotlight focuses on patient-centered care, we must identify how we can facilitate patient adherence as a path toward better health.

On November 14, 2011, healthcare educators and other professionals explored the factors influencing adherence.

  • Learn from experts about patient adherence in Ohio.
  • Learn more about the link between health literacy and patient adherence.
  • Share with other educators strategies that work to improve adherence.
  • Consider and develop educational strategies that can be implemented in local clinics, hospitals and medical schools.
  • Review projects awarded nearly $300,000 in block grants last year, with presentations from some of the winners.

The 2011-12 Adherence Block Grant application window opens at this Summit. Staff will be on hand to answer questions. Priority in the block grant process will be given to attendees.

Highlights from the 2010 Summit

The first Ohio Partnership for Adherence through Collaborative Education (OhioPACE) Summit was held on September 27, 2010, in Columbus, OH, and was enthusiastically received by an audience of Ohio continuing educators for the health professions. This Summit was the kickoff event introducing the availability of Block Grant funds for support of continuing education activities targeting improved adherence in Ohio, including interprofessional collaboration, and communication.

If you were unable to attend, we invite you to review the slides and Panel Summary document.

We now also have the video from the Summit:

  • Part 1 (223 MB)
  • Part 2 (70 MB)
  • Part 3 (407 MB)
  • Part 4 (70 MB)
  • Part 5 (81 MB)
(these video files are very large so please be patient when opening them)

Partnered with the handout materials, this package will allow you to understand the Block Grant process and use the materials to your best advantage.
