Neurosurgeons, Interventional Neuroradiologists, Vascular Neurologists, Emergency Physicians, Critical Care Physicians and other healthcare professionals interested in the care of the stroke
patient.

Objectives

After completing this activity, the participant will be able to do the following:

  • Diagnose and differentiate diseases affecting the vascular system superior to the aortic arch.
  • Discuss treatment options and relative advantages and disadvantages of different
    treatment modalities for:
    • Intracranial Stenoses
    • Carotid Stenoses
    • Lesions predisposed to causing hemorrhagic stroke such as aneurysms,
      arteriovenous malformations and dural shunts.
  • Compare and contrast diagnostic imaging techniques related to the diagnoses of the
    aforementioned disease processes.
  • Recognize differences in patient populations and available treatment strategies in the East
    and West.
