Description

There have been significant developments in the minimally invasive treatment of hepatopancreatico-biliary disorders over the last decade with the advancement of technology. Currently techniques have matured for ablational therapy of liver tumors, and laparoscopic resection of liver and pancreatic tumors. Robotic technology has caused a technical shift, to being able to mimic open surgery with laparoscopic surgery with the versatility of robotic instruments. Nevertheless, it is rare to be trained both in hepato-biliary surgery and laparoscopic surgery due to various reasons.

This one day course is an opportunity for an update in minimally invasive HPB and solid organ surgery with a strong emphasis on procedural details and an animal lab to be able to master these techniques. The course will be taught by experts with significant expertise in these fields. In addition, an update will be given on complex laparoscopic splenectomy procedures.

Robotic techniques have also been developed for adrenal disorders. This course will be an opportunity to review these advances as well.
