Oral Formulations
In most trials, the incidence of adverse effects was similar to placebo:
Gastrointestinal disturbances (<1%):
Diarrhea, flatulence, nausea and vomiting
Headache
Dermal hypersensitivity:
Ginkgo fruit/pulp is a potent contact allergen
Unexplained bleeding:
Two cases of subdural hematoma
One case of subarachnoid hemorrhage
Palpitations
Seizures
Cross-reactivity in patients allergic to poison ivy, oak and sumac, mango rind and cashew oil
Reduced male and female fertility (animal studies)
