Description
Presented through an expert panel discussion, this activity is intended to explore strategies for managing patients with psoriatic arthritis from both dermatology and rheumatology perspectives, focusing on challenges related to the recognition, assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of cutaneous and musculoskeletal disease in these patients.
Objectives
On completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Outline the cutaneous and musculoskeletal features of psoriatic arthritis.
- Describe available classification criteria and methodology to assist in making a diagnosis of psoriatic arthritis.
- Discuss the impact of psoriatic arthritis on quality of life and morbidity.
- Select systemic therapies for psoriatic arthritis considering varying severity. of cutaneous and musculoskeletal manifestations; monitor these therapies for safety and efficacy.
- Compare and contrast treatment approaches for cutaneous and musculoskeletal manifestations of psoriatic arthritis.
- Describe the beneficial aspects of optimizing interdisciplinary exchanges in the care of the patient with psoriatic arthritis.
Target Audience
This activity is targeted to physicians who treat patients for psoriatic arthritis such as dermatologists or rheumatologists, or other practitioners who also treat patients for psoriatic arthritis such as dermatology and rheumatology physician’s assistants or nurse practitioners.
Accreditation
The Cleveland Clinic Foundation Center for Continuing Education is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
