Welcome to The Cleveland
Clinic Disease Management Project, your comprehensive source for practical
treatment strategies developed by physicians from one of the country's
most respected medical centers.
This resource was
developed by The
Cleveland Clinic Center for Continuing Education and Unitech Communications®.
We may not be the
FIRST online medical reference guide, but we aim to be
the BEST.
In developing our
online guide, we've considered the recommendations of physicians who have
responded to numerous surveys conducted by The Cleveland Clinic Foundation
Center for Continuing Education.
Some of the hallmarks
of this Project:
- It is 100% free.
There is no cost to view the material and there are no barriers to accessing
the content. Add this web site URL to your list of favorites and visit
as often as you like without having to remember a password or user ID.
- It is comprehensive.
Phase 1, launched May 29, 2002, includes 40 chapters covering 10 medical
specialties. Another 50+ medical chapters will be launched over the
summer. Future plans call for the addition of chapters covering surgery
and pediatrics.
- It is authored
entirely by physicians from The Cleveland Clinic, recognized by U.S.
News & World Report as one of the top hospitals in the United States.
- Treatment recommendations
are tied to national practice guidelines, wherever possible.
- The guide includes
numerous helpful tables and graphics.
- Citations within
the chapter are hyperlinked to a list of references at the bottom of
each chapter. The references themselves are linked to the Medline abstracts
wherever possible.
- An index page lists
all the available chapters, broken down by medical specialty.
- An outline to the
right of each chapter allows the user to quickly drill down to a specific
section of a chapter.
