Description
The Cleveland Clinic Center for Continuing Education and the Respiratory Institute presents Lung Summit: Innovations in Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine. This educational activity will provide an evidence-based review and clinical practice analysis of research and treatment advances in several areas of respiratory medicine with the overall goal of improving outcomes in this patient population.

Target Audience
Pulmonologists, General Internists, Family Practice Physicians, Lung Transplant Physicians, and Allied Health Practitioners who practice in areas of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine will find this summit valuable in their clinical practice.
Objectives
After completing this learning activity, the participant will be able to do the following:
- Identify the most clinically important research on sleep disorders, especially findings related to the effect of sleep apnea on cardiovascular and pulmonary disorders;
- Discuss controversies and evolving management strategies for sleep disorders;
- List clinically important innovations in lung transplantation techniques and describe their effects on expanding patient selection criteria;
- Assess and treat postoperative complications associated with lung transplantation;
- Review the changing role of exhaled nitric oxide in the diagnosis and management of patients with asthma;
- Describe therapeutic advances for severe asthma, especially efficacy and safety data on bronchial thermoplasty, and evaluate their use in clinical practice;
- Evaluate research data on pulmonary manifestations in systemic diseases including connective tissue disorders, inflammatory gastrointestinal disorders, and renal disease.

Taxi service is available from Cleveland Hopkins International Airport to the InterContinental Hotel& Bank of America Conference Center. As an alternative, take the rapid transit train from the airport to the Terminal Tower in downtown Cleveland and from there take a taxi to the InterContinental Hotel & Bank of America Conference Center.

The Cleveland Clinic Foundation Center for Continuing Education designates this educational activity for a maximum of 15 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
Participants claiming CME credit from this activity may submit the credit hours to the American Osteopathic Association Council on Continuing Medical Education for Category 2 credit.
The Ohio Board of Nursing will accept at face value the number of contact hours awarded for an educational activity that has been approved for CE by a nationally accredited system of CE approval. Therefore, the 15 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ will be accepted for nursing credits.
