Mellen Center Update on Multiple Sclerosis (MS)

June 11, 2010

InterContinental Hotel & Bank of America Conference Center
Cleveland, OH

Description

It is our pleasure to invite you to our third update on MS and related disorders. Every year brings new understanding about MS and its treatment, and the past year has been full of both expected and surprising developments. This year’s edition will be interesting, challenging, and worth your valuable time.

In this update we will discuss basic information about MS, review the present status of MS therapeutics, and provide an in-depth look at the future of MS therapeutics. Complex cases will be reviewed in terms of medical management and rehabilitation as well as cases that look like MS but represent other pathologies. We will also delve into the role of MRI from the clinical side and research side, recognizing the importance of this modality in our breakthroughs in MS. Sessions on symptom management, wellness, and patient experience, which reflect the importance of quality of life and lifestyle decisions in MS care will be offered as well as a special session with Dr. Richard Rudick, our center director, answering your questions about the past, present and future of MS treatment and research.

This year we continue our trend of using a case-based, Audience Response System format for the morning, and two breakout sessions in the afternoon. We have responded to your feedback from previous courses to include topics or changes that you have suggested in prior sessions to reflect your needs as adult learners.

We hope you enjoy the symposium!
