Overview

This summit will be this year’s scientific meeting of the International Association of Breath Research (IABR). The meeting will be held in collaboration with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and the Electrochemical Society (ECS). Proceedings will be published in the newly established Journal of Breath Research (JBR).

This Summit will bring industry executives, entrepreneurs, and investors together with scientists and clinicians to discuss key trends, future directions, and upcoming technologies in breath analysis and medicine. A major focus this year will be on nitric oxide, exhaled breath condensate, electronic nose, mass spectrometry, and newer sensor technologies. Medical applications range from asthma and other respiratory diseases to gastrointestinal disease, occupational diseases, critical care, and cancer.

The Summit’s goal is to discuss new ways to get advances to the patients who need them, and how to do so in the quickest, safest, most cost-effective way. To achieve this goal, the Summit will bring together medical technology companies, venture capitalists and leading physicians and scientists to review recent and ongoing innovations and discuss how to responsibly translate new technologies into safe and effective patient care.
